Short Biography

Dr. Cyril Komba is the Senior Lecturer and Head of the Department of Community and Rural Development. He holds a PhD degree from the Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA); Master in Demography and Bachelor in Geography and Environmental Studies (University of Dar es Salaam), Postgraduate Diploma in Poverty Analysis for Socio economic Security Development (Institute of Social Studies, Netherlands, ISS). Dr. Komba has been working with the Department in teaching, research and consultants since 2007 where he was employed as an assistant lecturer. Dr. Komba’s Research and consultants interests include: Participatory social research, Agriculture and Community development, multi-sector, Community livelihoods, community driven development, environment and natural resource management, development impact evaluation, participatory development, Gender studies in Development and Women Empowerment, Environmental and Social Impacts Assessment, Development and Analysis of Policies, and Community socio-economic development mobilization.
