Mwanahawa Leonard Mhina is a lecturer, researcher and consultant with extensive experience in Microfinance, banking, impact evaluation and agricultural co-operatives. Currently, she is the head of the Microfinance and Banking Department at the University. Mhina holds an Advanced Diploma in Cooperative Accounting, a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting and Finance, and an MBA from the University of Dar es Salaam. Mhina has experience in teaching microfinance, finance and banking courses. She has attended various professional workshops, including training on co-operative development, agricultural sustainability, climate change, Quality Assurance, Policy Analysis, Gender and Environment. Mhina has been involved in multiple research and consultancy projects, collaborating with organizations such as Oxfam, SNV, World Vision Tanzania (WVT), International Water Management Institute (IWMI) and the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission (TCDC). Her work focuses on areas such as agribusiness, gender mapping, climate change, governance through digitalization, and cooperative development. She has contributed to several publications and evaluation reports in these fields.
