Program Overview

This programme is designed to meet the needs of learners, future employees, and employers and to equip candidates with basic knowledge and skills in Microfinance to handle lower-level Microfinance functions. It is a demand and competence-based curriculum, with the target of enhancing learners' abilities to perform well in their work. This enables the programme to produce graduates who are innovative, creative, and flexible and who can respond quickly to the social, job market, and global environment.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives are to:

  • Enable students to understand the fundamentals of microfinance and its role in economic development.
  • Equip students with the skills to manage basic microfinance operations effectively.
  • Develop the ability to analyze financial data and provide practical microfinance solutions.
  • Prepare students to handle client relationships and micro-lending operations efficiently.
  • Promote critical thinking for evaluating the impact of microfinance services on communities and businesses.

General Entry Requirements

  • Applicants must have obtained a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or equivalent with passes in at least four (4) subjects, including Mathematics and English.
  • Applicants with relevant work experience in financial services or related fields will have an added advantage.
