Dr. Rashid Abdallah Chikoyo holds PhD in Community Development based on educational management from Moshi Co-operative University, Master of Arts in Rural Development from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Bachelor of science in Agricultural Education and Extension from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Diploma in Agricultural Education from Monduli Teachers’ College, Certificate of Agriculture and Livestock Production from MATI- Mtwara and Mpwapwa Livestock Training Institute.
Dr. Chikoyo’s key academic career roles are teaching, research and consultancy. To date, has made several scholarly contributions that include 12 journal articles and 1 international conference papers and one Book review. Dr. Chikoyo has supervised and examined over 30 postgraduate and numerous undergraduate research reports.
Dr. Chikoyo has a working experience of 16 as academician, in various levels of education management. Dr. Chikoyo is currently a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Community Development and Gender. His key areas of interest and competence includes Agriculture and Livestock production, extension education based on Crops and livestock production dissemination techniques, educational management, sustainable agriculture, soil conservation practices, agroecological requirement for tropical and temperate crops, Participatory Extension Methodologies for crop production, research methods, Baseline survey and evaluation of developmental projects, farmers training methods, Social psychology and irrigation scheme management.
