Dr. John Siegfred Magalaya Shilinde is a dedicated Lecturer in the Department of Economics and Statistics at Moshi Cooperative University, Tanzania. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics with a specialization in International Economics and Econometrics from the University of Dar es Salaam School of Economics, Tanzania. Additionally, he earned an MSc. in Agricultural Economics and a BSc. in Agric Economics and Agribusiness from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania. Dr. Shilinde also holds a second MSc. in Agric Economics from the University of Reading, United Kingdom. As a lecturer, Dr. Shilinde imparts knowledge in Microeconomics, International Economics, International Trade, Macroeconomics, Econometrics, Managerial Economics, Natural Resources and Environmental Economics, Behavioural Economics, Research Methods, and Project Design and Management. In his research and consultancy roles, Dr. Shilinde is currently exploring the intricate relationship between foreign intermediaries, domestic firms, and agricultural export dynamics in Tanzania. His diverse research interests encompass international agricultural trade, trade policy analysis, price volatility analysis, FDI (with a focus on individual firms), internationalization of firms, behavioural economics, climate change and trade nexus, and natural resource economics. With extensive academic and research experience, Dr. Shilinde collaborates with esteemed institutions such as the Economics and Social Research Foundation (ESRF) and Research for Poverty Alleviation (REPOA). He has played pivotal roles as a project officer in marketing and business development for local and international organizations. Dr. Shilinde’s significant contributions to the field are evident in numerous publications, including journals, working papers, policy briefs, and research reports, highlighting his unwavering dedication to advancing economic development knowledge.
