Aurelia I. Mbwaga is a dedicated professional with a strong academic background and extensive experience in the fields of agricultural economics, business economics, and cooperative management. She holds a Master of Science (MSc.) degree in Agricultural and Applied Economics from Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) in Morogoro, Tanzania completed in 2022. Prior to her postgraduate studies, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics from Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) in Kilimanjaro, Tanzania completed in 2016, and a Diploma in Cooperative Management and Accounting from Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies (MuCCoBS) completed in 2012.
Aurelia has actively pursued professional development through various training programs, including Qualitative Research Methods in October 2022, a Business Development Cycle seminar in September 2017, and participation in diverse research methodology workshops between 2016 and 2022. Her career commenced at Moshi Co-operative University, where she has been an integral part of the Department of Economics and Statistics since 2017. Initially serving as a Tutorial Assistant, Aurelia was involved in supervising tutorials, seminars, and lesson preparations until 2022. Subsequently, she transitioned into the role of Assistant Lecturer, contributing to research, teaching, consultancy, and publications in the field of Agribusiness and Business Economics. Additionally, Aurelia has taken on leadership responsibilities as the Regional Program Coordinator, overseeing activities in various Co-operative societies and organizing community-based groups in Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and Tanga regions since 2022. Her research contributions include a study on the Economics of Fodder Production at ASAS Farm Ltd, involving data analysis, report writing, and subsequent publication. As a dedicated Facilitator/Trainer, she has actively engaged with the Maasai in Arusha and Longido, imparting knowledge on business cycle development and effective marketing strategies for aspiring entrepreneurs. Aurelia’s multifaceted expertise showcases her commitment to academic excellence, research, and community development in the agricultural sector.
