It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Directorate of Students Services (DSS) at the Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU). This is a platform that provides information on various activities and services offered by the DSS to the University community. The DSS is “Home away from home” for all the students who enroll at MoCU. It is a place where students are invited to be themselves and voice their needs and have them met as reasonably as possible. The office aims at ensuring the welfare of the students physically, emotionally, intellectually, socially and spiritually. At MoCU, we strive to prepare and empower students for life, not just for employment. In recognition that students come to campus from many different places, with different backgrounds, and different needs, every effort is made to provide the best and most comprehensive resources possible for students’ academic and personal advancement. It takes tremendous creativity, energy, and dedicated personnel to make our campus environment the most invigorating and inspiring place it can be for fostering lifelong learning and personal growth and development for students. To deliver this service, the DSS office create and oversee a variety of programs that include psychosocial support, accommodation, social extra-curricular activities, health, and student leadership. Currently, the DSS operates with two departments namely; the Department of Counseling and Guidance and the Department of Students’ Accommodation. Within this Web site a reader can glimpse at least the range (but not the full depth) of services and programs available in the DSS office. We take our responsibilities seriously as we help guide students through the variety of personal and academic issues they are likely to encounter during their time at MoCU. With student development and success in mind, we value every opportunity to collaborate with students, faculty, staff and the entire community. Therefore, the doors of the DSS office in its various departments are open to students and everyone to benefit from the services, the support, assistance and advice through the work of the well committed team.
