Program Overview

The Diploma in Business Enterprise Management (DBEM) is a two-year, full-time program conducted under the semester system, comprising four semesters. The holder of a Diploma in Business and Enterprise Management (DBEM) is equipped with essential skills and knowledge to engage in entrepreneurship and business management. The program covers key business courses such as Business Management, Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship, Microfinance, Marketing, Basic Accounting, Taxation, and E-Business. Graduates of DBEM will be valuable assets in business enterprises, capable of effectively managing business start-ups and fostering growth.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives are to:

  • Provide students with fundamental knowledge in entrepreneurship and business management.
  • Equip learners with essential skills for managing business start-ups and enterprises.
  • Develop students' ability to analyze and apply financial and marketing principles in business.

General Entry Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or an equivalent qualification, with passes in five approved subjects obtained prior to attempting the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or its equivalent.
  • Additionally, candidates must have achieved a minimum of one principal pass and one subsidiary pass in the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE/NQF Level 5), totaling at least 1.5 points for both science and social science combinations at ACSEE level.
  • An equivalent candidate for the program is required to have a Certificate with a minimum GPA of 2.0.
