Program Overview

The Diploma in Human Resource Management (DHRM) is a two-year programme designed to provide students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in managing human resources within organizations. The curriculum covers key areas such as recruitment and selection, employee relations, payroll management, labor laws, training and development, and workplace ethics. By combining theoretical learning with hands-on experience, the programme prepares graduates for entry-level HR roles, such as HR assistants, payroll officers, and administrative support staff, while also serving as a pathway for further studies in human resource management.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives are to:

  • Equip students with essential HR knowledge, including recruitment, selection, and employee relations.
  • Develop practical skills in payroll management, labor laws, and workplace ethics.
  • Prepare graduates for entry-level HR positions in both private and public organizations.
  • Provide students with the ability to analyze and implement HR policies for effective organizational management.

General Entry Requirements

  • Applicants must have completed the Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) or an equivalent qualification, with passes in five approved subjects obtained before attempting the Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) or its equivalent.
  • Candidates must have achieved at least one principal pass and one subsidiary pass in the ACSEE/NQF Level 5, adding up to a minimum of 1.5 points in relevant subjects.
  • Alternatively, an equivalent qualification with a minimum GPA of 2.0 from a recognized institution is acceptable.
