Dr. Emmanuel E. Lulandala, CPA(T), currently holds the position of Lecturer in Accounting, Finance, and Marketing at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) in Moshi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania. His academic journey includes earning a doctorate in commerce from the University of Delhi, India, in 2021, under the guidance of Prof. Kavita Sharma. In addition to his doctoral achievements, Dr. Lulandala obtained his degree in Accounting and Finance from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Tanzania in 2010 and completed his Masters of Business Administration in 2015 at Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana, India. He is a Certified Public Accountant accredited by the National Board of Accountants and Auditors in Tanzania.
Dr. Lulandala’s professional experience at MoCU spans various roles, progressing from Tutorial Assistant (2011-2014) to Assistant Lecturer (2014-2021) and currently holding the position of Lecturer from 2021 to the present. He also worked as a banker at Standard Chartered Bank in 2011. Administratively, Dr. Lulandala serves as the Financial Management Specialist (since 2021) for the World Bank’s HEET Project at MoCU. Previously, he held the role of Assistant Quality Assurance Coordinator at MoCU and participated in Quality Assurance initiatives in Uganda, Burundi, and Tanzania from 2016 to 2017.
With over 12 years of teaching experience, Dr. Lulandala has published numerous papers in journals by Emerald, Springer Nature, and Sage, and presented at international conferences. He has supervised more than 12 Master research students, co-supervised about 5 Ph.D. candidates, reviewed papers for reputable journals in India, Tanzania and USA. He is involved in ongoing research projects, Notably, his current projects focus on the Competitiveness of Cooperative Unions in the Coffee Value Chain in Tanzania and Mobile Health Apps for Sustainable Health Management.
Furthermore, Dr. Lulandala has facilitated numerous capacity-building workshops focused on Business Planning and Conflict Management for Saving and Credit Cooperative Societies as part of the Market Infrastructure Value Addition and Rural Finance (MIVARF) project. Additionally, Dr. Lulandala has engaged in various consultancy assignments both within Tanzania and internationally. His most recent international assignment includes working with the International Cooperative Alliance Africa in developing the Africa Co-operative Development Strategy 2023- 2033, “One Co-operative – One Africa”.
In addition to his professional and academic contributions, Dr. Lulandala has received several prestigious awards, such as the PAU Outstanding Performance Award, the USAID-Feed the Future Scholarship Award (USA), and the ICCR Doctoral Scholarship Award (India).
