Welcome to the Department of Procurement and Supply Chain Management. The Department is one among the seven departments in the Faculty of Business and Information Sciences (FBIS). Over its course of its establishment, the Department has produced competent, skilled and resourceful Procurement and Supply Chain Professionals. Endowed with competent and reputable lecturers, the department has done a number of research and consultancy projects relating to Procurement and Supply Chain Management.
Currently the department has 11 members of academic staff constituting two (2) senior lecturers, two (2) lecturers, five (5) assistant lecturers and two (2) tutorial assistant. There are continuous initiatives to employ more members of staff in order to increase the workforce and efficiency. The department is well linked to Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technicians Board (PSPTB) where our students after completion of their bachelor degree are recruited to register for professional examination and Professional Registration at Graduate level. Our students have received several honours from PSPTB as best performers since 2009 to date. The department has also received international students under IUCEA and DAAD Scholarships through the Masters Programme in Procurement and Supply Management and was positively recommended by our international students with excellent completion time.
The Department is continually striving to excel in teaching, research, consultancy and community services which are going to be achieved through staff training so as to increase the highest level of academic competencies, seeking and executing research projects, undertaking consultancy projects as well as cooperating with other national and international academic and non-academic institutions and associations. The ultimate goal is to become the best provider of Procurement and Supply Chain Management in the country as well as African continent, thus, producing graduates with competence paramount for solving unemployment problems while serving the ever-increasing demands of customers. This will have a significant contribution in building the nation’s economy and the world at large.
