Program Overview

This programme produces graduates who are technically and intellectually competent to build careers in microfinance and business development. The candidates are equipped with theoretical and practical knowledge in microfinance and entrepreneurial skills. This enables them to become change agents in the microfinance sector and enterprise development. The programme is there for creating intellectuals and professionals who are job creators as opposed to job seekers.

Specific Objectives

The specific objectives are to:

  • Equip students with knowledge and skills in microfinance and enterprise development.
  • Enable students to apply innovative solutions in microfinance and entrepreneurship.
  • Prepare students to become job creators and influential change agents in the business world.
  • Provide exposure to international best practices in microfinance and enterprise development.
  • Develop students' leadership and strategic thinking skills for effective enterprise management.

General Entry Requirements

  • Two principal passes in the following subjects: Economics, Accountancy, Advanced Mathematics, Commerce, Geography, History, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Agriculture, Computer Science, Nutrition, English Language, History, Kiswahili or French.
  • Equivalent qualifications, such as a recognized diploma in Microfinance, Business Development, or related fields, are also accepted.
  • Applicants with strong entrepreneurial and financial analysis skills will have an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in English is required for all applicants.
