Erick R. Samwi is a Computer Systems Analyst. He holds Master’s in Information and Communication Science and Engineering (MSc. ICSE) from the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) and a Bachelor of Science with Computer Science from University of Dar es Salaam. Mr. Erick is now serving the Moshi Cooperative University since May 2015 as an academician. In ICT field work, he served as an ICT and Monitoring expert with the USAID funded, TZ21-Basic Education Program and IT projects Officer with the ICT4D-Tanzania Foundation before joining the Moshi Co-operative University as an academician in the department of ICT. At TZ21 Basic Education Program he led the Systems installation Consultants team in Zanzibar Island in 2013 and thereafter he became the Program Focal Person for ICT Systems for both Zanzibar Island and Mtwara region in 2014.

With respect to project reviews, Mr. Erick has participated in research activities to identify and prepare research plan as well as data collection and analysis. He participated in preparation and execution of consultancy service to conduct impact evaluation for SATF MVC Support Programs in twelve regions of mainland Tanzania. Moreover, he attended 3 months course in research and evaluation of ICT projects at Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University (DHBW) Heidenheim, Germany (March – May, 2019). Mr. Erick also attended a one-month training course on Project Development for Knowledge Transfer at Leipzig University, Germany (September, 2019) and a two weeks course on Data Science skills and pedagogy at University of Turku (UTU), Finland in June 2022. Eventually, Erick’s research interest resides in the area of improving higher education sector. This can be supported by a research conducted by Erick during his postgraduate studies as MSc. Candidate and subsequently research papers he has published.
