Dr. Cyril Kalembana Komba holds PhD in Community Development from Sokoine University of Agriculture, Post Graduate Diploma in Poverty Analysis for Socioeconomic Security and Development from the Institute of Social Studies, Netherlands (ISS), Masters in Demography and bachelor of Geography and Environmental Studies both from the University of Dar es Salaam.

Dr. Cyril’s key academic career roles are teaching, research and consultancy. To date, Dr. Cyril has made several scholarly contributions that include 17 journal articles and 3 conference papers and one Book review. Dr. Cyril has supervised and examined over 50 postgraduate and numerous undergraduate research works.

Dr. Cyril has a working experience of 16 years more as academician, researcher and consultant. Dr. Cyril’s areas of interest and competence include: Agriculture and Community development, Co-operative development, Gender issues in development and women empowerment, Population, resources and environment, Community livelihoods and community driven development, Environment and natural resource management, Environmental and Social Impacts Assessments, Community socio-economic development and resource mobilisation, Development policy analysis, Development impact evaluation and Participatory development.

Dr. Cyril is experienced to work with TANESCO into Tanzania- Zambia Transmission Interconnector (TAZA) Project and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism in the Resilient Natural Resource Management for Tourism and Growth (REGROW) Project as the gender and community engagement expert.
