Hussein Kisusu is an Assistant Lecturer at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU), teaching courses on Social Work and other related modules. He has a Master’s Degree in Social Work majoring in Gender issues and children’s welfare from Institute of Social Work in Dar es Salaam. Hussein is also an academician focusing on research, developmental social work as well as sustainable development. He also acts as youth associate at Legal and Child Right Consult Ltd (LECRI) promoting fundamental Human Right, National and International Laws, economy, social development, education and better health. Hussein is also working with a network of social workers, Tanzania Association of Social Worker (TASWO) committed to ensure the general wellbeing of community and its members.
As a member of TASWO Tanzania, Hussein had a chance to participate in trainings and conferences as well as having a chance to share experiences with his fellow youth in various youth groups about gender issues, human right, HIV/AIDs, SRHR, Volunteerism spirit and advocate those agendas to decision makers to influence equality and meaningful engagement of young people in social development at all level of planning, implementation and evaluation, he also advocate for quality education and better health services; Building positive confidence to children, adolescent and young people. Hussein advocating on various issues/challenges especially girls come across in their day-to-day life which may expose them to danger like teen pregnancies, school dropout and HIV.
