Dr. Kitala Christian Malamsha is an accomplished academic and management professional currently serving as a Senior Lecturer at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) particularly department of Economics and Statistics. Holding a PhD degree in Rural Development from the prestigious Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA), with a research focus on Success of Microfinance Institutions case Savings and Credit Cooperative Societies in Tanzania. He pursued MBA in Finance and Banking from IDM Mzumbe and BSc Agriculture with Rural Economy option from SUA.
Since 2003, Dr. Malamsha has been actively engaged in academician at Cooperative College, Moshi University College of Co-operative and Business Studies and now Moshi Co-operative University. Her professional journey has been marked by a commitment to teaching, community service, and extensive research and consultancy work on agriculture, microfinance, finance, cooperative and community development projects across East African countries. His expertise spans various levels, from household initiatives to local community development projects. Dr. Malamsha taught various courses including Agricultural Economics, Advanced Microfinance Management, Project planning and Management, Economics of Co-operative Enterprises, International Finance, Principles of Economics, Agricultural Economics and planning, Price policy and Intermediate Microfinance Management.

Dr. Malamsha’s impactful contributions extend to his role as the Regional Program Coordinator from 2004 to 2010, where she operated in Kilimanjaro, Arusha, and Manyara. In this capacity, he led diverse teams in planning and executing team-building activities, implementing program policies, conducting research, and liaising with stakeholders. His responsibilities included supervision, training, and consultancy for members, leaders, and staff of different cooperative societies, ranging from SACCOS and AMCOS to community developmental groups and microfinance institutions. Regarding management activities in the university, he worked as Head of Department of Economics and Statistics from 2010 to 2012 and from 2012 to 2022 served as a faculty dean for Faculty of Co-operative and Community Development. He performed several consultancies and community services in agriculture economics, training services management, microfinance, strategic plan, business plan and co-operative finance.
