Luka Njau is a Lecturer at the department of Community and Rural Development. He is currently pursuing PhD studies in Rural Development at Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA). He holds a Master degree in Rural Development, a Bachelor degree in Agricultural Education and Extension both from SUA and a certificate in Managing Agricultural Marketing Co-operatives (My.Coop) from the International Training Centre of the International Labor Organization (ITC-ILO). Mr. Luka Njau has an extensive teaching and field work experience accumulated over ten years period since his employment at the University in 2007. He has accumulated field experience and interactions through developing and facilitation of the interventions related to Agricultural Value Chain, Agricultural Education & Extension, Participatory Approaches, Co-operative Extension, Co-operative Innovation, Projects Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation (M& E), etc. He has been lecturing and facilitating Agricultural Education and Extension, Co-operative Extension, Adult Training Methodologies, Participatory Methodologies and Research Methods courses at the University. He has accumulated experience in promoting group actions and approaches to community development activities and farmers’ organizations. Mr. Njau’s research interests lies within the aforementioned disciplines. He has also published several articles that are in line with his areas of expertise and research interest..
