Short Biography

Erasto Gerald Luvanda holds MA-Information Studies from University of Dar es salaam-(UDSM) and Bachelor of Arts in Library and Information Studies-BALIS from (Tumaini University of Dar es Salaam-(TUDARCo).

He is Assistant Librarian under the Department of Readers Services. His academic career in library professional started from September 2013 to April, 2015 when he was employed by Josiah Kibira University College –former Constituent College of Tumaini University Makumira at Bukoba-Kagera (JoKUCo) as Head of Library. He joined Moshi Co-operative University –(MoCU) in 1st May, 2015 as Trainee Librarian teaches Librarianship Studies and supervising Research in Undergraduate Studies. In the same year (2015) he was appointed as Coordinator of Elementary Course of Library in the Directorate of Co-operative Library and Archives (DCLA) at MoCU. In 1st July, 2017 he was appointed as the Head of Department (HoD), Department of Co-operative Documentation, Information and Serials at the Directorate of Co-operative Library and Archives (DCLA), Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU).

Administratively, Mr. Luvanda is currently the Head of Department of Readers Services (RS) at the Directorate of Co-operative Library and Archives (DCLA), Mr. Luvanda has facilitated several E-resources Trainings at MoCU as part of creating awareness on the use of electronic resources. Outside MoCU, in 2017 he also collaborated with the MoCU staff (Former MoCU-Deputy Vice Chancellor Academic Affairs) and run E-resources Trainings at KCMC College of Medicine to Students who are per suing Masters Degree of Medicine. In compliance with issues related to consultancy, Mr. Luvanda has been fully participated in writing finding proposal for strengthening the Cooperative Library and Archives at the Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) and Establishing a Cooperative Resources Centre at the Tanzania Cooperative Development Commission(TCDC).
