Dr. Somo M.L. Seimu is a Tanzanian. Currently, is a Senior lecturer at Moshi Co-operative University (MoCU) in Tanzania. At MoCU he is engaged in teaching and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate students in courses and research topics related co-operative development and governance, organisational development, rural sociology, community development, community health, agricultural development, politics and political reforms, democracy, climate change, education (adult, secondary and primary), gender aspects, health issues, grassroots social-economic development initiatives conflicts and resolution in rural communities. He has a reasonable command on qualitative research methodology. Has PhD (Universities of Central Lancashire, UClan), Master of Education – MEd (Cardiff University) and BA with Education (Dar Es Salaam University, UDSM). Seimu is research associate with United Kingdom Co-operative College and teaches, in some occasions at the University of Lays of Adventists of Kigali (UNILAK) in Rwanda. He has conducted researches and published in such aspects as the Tanzania’s co-operative movement history, provision of basic education in rural areas in Tanzania, and climate change adaptation among indigenous communities in Tanzania. He works as a consultant in development programmes and projects in designing, monitoring and evaluation. He is privileged to teach at several secondary schools in Tanzanian where such subjects he taught are political science, history, development/general studies.
